For the following modules of the Bachelor's Program Mathematics,
courses are offered on a regular basis by the professors
of the Research Institute for Discrete Mathematics:
 Seminar (Module number: S1G1):
The seminar deals with different topics in the field of Discrete Mathematics. Since only the background knowledge of the basic lectures is required, this module should be attended in the second semester.

Lecture "Einführung in die Diskrete Mathematik" [Introduction to Discrete Mathematics] (V2C1):
This fourhour lecture with twohour exercises is offered every winter term. Only background knowledge of the lectures of the first semester is required. Thus, it should be attended in the third semester.

Lecture "Lineare und Ganzzahlige Optimierung" [Linear and Integer Optimization] (V3C1):
This fourhour lecture with twohour exercises is also offered every winter term and is designed for students in their third or fifth semester.

Lecture "Kombinatorik, Graphen, Matroide" [Combinatorics, Graphs, Matroids] (V3C2):
This fourhour lecture with twohour exercises is also offered every summer term and should be attended during the fourth semester. Ambitious students may attend already during their second semester, since only background knowledge of the first semester is required.
 Hauptseminar "Diskrete Optimierung" [Advanced Seminar Discrete Optimization] (S2C1):
The advanced seminar is offered every winter term and is based on the lecture "Einführung in die Diskrete Mathematik". It is mainly designed for students in their fifth semester.
 Practical Programming Course "Diskrete Optimierung" [Discrete Optimization] (P2C1):
The practical programming course is offered every summer term and should be attended in the fourth semester.
 Practical Teaching Course (P2G1)
The Practical Teaching Course ("Tutorenpraktikum") can be passed
by tutoring exercise classes for the lecture courses
"Einführung in die Diskrete Mathematik", "Lineare und Ganzzahlige Optimierung"
and "Kombinatorik, Graphen, Matroide".
Successful participation in the exercises is an absolute requirement
for permission for module examination where exercises are offered with the lectures.

Of course, it is also possible to set the focus on Discrete Mathematics and
to write a bachelor's thesis (T3G1) at the
Research Institute for Discrete Mathematics after successfully attending sufficiently
many of our modules
(see below for examples of study plans) .
Those students who are willing to do so,
should contact one of the institute's professors well in time (at the latest after the
successful talk in the Hauptseminar).
Of course, the Begleitseminar zur Bachelorarbeit (S3G1) is also offered
regularly.
